Dr. Deepak KhuranaDr. Deepak Khurana, DVM, MVS, Owner of PVAH

Dr. Khurana completed his Bachelors degree in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at PAU, India in 1997. He then completed his Master's degree from the same university before he came to the United States to pursue his passion for treating pets.

He further earned a ECFVG degree from Oklahoma State University in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. He practiced in Orange County, CA for about 5 years before he moved to Ventura County and bought Bristol Animal Hospital in Ventura.

Dr. Khurana strongly believes in the power of preventive medicine and has a special interest in soft tissue surgery.


Dr. Kay Fransen

Dr. Fransen is a small animal medicine and surgical veterinarian, graduating from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1979 and did an internship in small animal medicine at West Los Angeles Veterinary Medical Group in West Los Angeles in 1980. Dr. Fransen published several articles relating to internal medicine in the AVMA and SCVMA journal in 1980 and 1981.

Dr. Fransen was head of the internal medicine divisionat Animal Medical and Surgical Clinic in Dallas, Texas for three years, and then owned Malibu Veterinary Clinic in Malibu, California for 21 years. Dr. Fransen brings a lengthy knowledge of internal medicine and natural medicine to the practice, with 32 years of clinical practice and an old fashion love of animals and the people who are their families.


  • Danielle Glen
    Office Manager
    Danielle has been a part of Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital since 1999. She has enjoyed watching many pets come in as puppies and kittens, and live long, happy lives as valued family members. She explains her favorite part of the job as seeing how the close bond between the pet and owner can accelerate the healing process. She finds the work very fulfilling. During the summer months, Danielle volunteers for US Fish and Wildlife and monitors the nesting habitats of 2 endangered bird species on local beaches. She's done it for 7 years, and looks forward to each breeding season. For fun, Danielle loves rooting for the Green Bay Packers, and spending time with her husband Michael and their 3 rescued mini dachshunds, Mya, Augustus and Grover.
  • Stephanie Garcia
    Stephanie graduated from Animal Behavior College as a certified vet assistant. She has always loved pets ever since she was young. Seeing them come back happy and healthy is her favorite part of the job. She is very happy to be part of the PVAH. She loves the environment and most important of all, the pets that come in. She treats any pet like her own. Stephanie has 2 dogs and 1 guinea pig. Leena (a Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix), Boss (a Pit bull), and Manx (an American Satin guinea pig). In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies are playing softball and watching the Los Angeles Dodgers.
  • Cristina Newman
    Cristina has been a vet tech for 11 years in both day practice and pet emergency hospitals. She enjoys all aspects of working in a veterinary hospital, especially assisting in orthopedic surgeries. Cristina recently moved back to California from Raleigh, NC and Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital is happy to have on our team. For fun, Cristina enjoys beach camping, hiking, cooking and spending time with her husband, daughter and three cats.
  • Victoria Plambek
    Victoria is a graduate from Moorpark College with her associates in Behavioral Science. She is continuing her education at Pierce College for her RVT license. She has worked in the veterinary field for four years, starting as a boarding assistant and now working as a veterinary assistant. Ever since she was a little girl, she knew she would work, care and help animals. Her love for animals and their health is the reason that she loves working at PVAH. Being a part of such a caring and understanding team has made her learning experience exceptional.

    On her time off Victoria enjoys sewing with her cat Holly, camping with her husband and spending the day at the beach with her dog Hamish.

  • Paola Ceja
    Paola is currently going to school to become an RVT and has always known this was the career path she wanted. She has two dogs, a sassy Chihuahua she has had since she was 9 years old and a cuddly Chow Chow mix that is 3 years old. On her free time she enjoys laying under a tree with them while she reads or studies. She has been working at Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital for over a year and has quickly come to consider it a second home!
